How to Manage Your Subscription and Plan
Pixelesq Plan Structure
Pixelesq offers multiple subscription tiers designed for different use cases:
- Free: Get started with core features. Includes custom domain support, published pages, basic analytics, and Pixelesq subdomain. Good for personal sites and small projects.
- Pro: For serious projects. Adds AI features (Magic Drop, Magic Pick-n-Drop, chatbot), higher page limits, more collection entries, and access to premium integrations.
- Plus: For growing teams. Expanded limits, additional team members, priority support.
- Enterprise: Custom pricing for large organizations with specific needs (dedicated support, SSO, SLAs, custom integrations).
Specific feature availability and limits vary by plan. Check the pricing page for current details.
Find Your Current Plan
In your Pixelesq dashboard, click Settings in the sidebar. Look for the billing or plan section. You see your current plan name, next billing date, and renewal amount.
There is also usually a plan indicator somewhere in the sidebar or project switcher that shows your current tier at a glance.

Compare Plans
Click the upgrade or plan selection link to see a comparison of all available plans. For each plan, you can see:
- Monthly and annual pricing
- Included features
- Limits (pages, collections, entries, team members, storage)
- Integrations available
Pick based on what you actually need. A common mistake is picking the highest tier "just in case". Start with the lowest tier that covers your current needs and upgrade when you genuinely hit a limit.
Upgrade Your Plan
To upgrade, click Upgrade on the target plan. Pixelesq redirects you to the checkout page (usually powered by Stripe). Enter payment details and confirm.
Upgrades take effect immediately. New features and higher limits are available as soon as payment is processed. Your billing cycle also resets to the upgrade date unless you chose annual billing.
Annual vs Monthly Billing
Most Pixelesq plans offer both monthly and annual billing. Annual is typically discounted (often 15-20% off compared to monthly), with the full year paid upfront.
- Choose monthly if you want flexibility to cancel or downgrade quickly.
- Choose annual if you are confident in committing for a year and want the discount.
You can usually switch between monthly and annual at renewal time. Mid-cycle switches may be prorated.
Downgrade Your Plan
To downgrade, select a lower tier from the plan comparison. Pixelesq warns you about limits you will lose access to (e.g., "You currently have 15 pages, but the downgrade target allows only 10").
Resolve the warnings first:
- Delete excess pages, collections, entries, or team members to fit the new plan
- Export data you need to preserve
- Confirm no critical features will be lost
Downgrades typically take effect at the end of your current billing cycle, not immediately. You keep your current tier's features until then.
Cancel Your Subscription
To cancel, look for the cancel option in your billing settings. Cancellation typically takes effect at the end of the current billing period, so you retain access until then. After that, your project downgrades to the Free plan (not deleted) or becomes read-only, depending on plan specifics.
Pixelesq does not typically delete your project or data on cancellation. Your content remains accessible, but paid features are no longer available.
Update Payment Methods
Go to billing settings and find the payment method section. Click edit or update to change your card. This is handled through Stripe's secure checkout flow, so your card details are entered directly on Stripe's page (Pixelesq never sees or stores your card).
Update your payment method if:
- Your card is expiring soon
- You switched banks or cards
- Your previous payment failed
How Proration Works
When you upgrade or downgrade mid-cycle, Pixelesq prorates the difference:
- Upgrading mid-cycle: you pay the difference between the old plan and the new plan for the remaining days of your current cycle. Next cycle, you are billed at the new plan's full rate.
- Downgrading mid-cycle: the downgrade typically takes effect at the next cycle. No immediate refund. You keep the old plan until then.
Proration is handled automatically by Stripe. The invoice shows the breakdown.
What Happens When You Hit a Limit
If you try to exceed your plan's limits (e.g., creating the 11th page on a 10-page plan), Pixelesq blocks the action with a message explaining the limit and suggesting an upgrade. You have a few options:
- Upgrade to a higher tier
- Delete or archive existing content to make room
- Work around by restructuring (e.g., combining multiple short pages into one longer page if page count is the limit)
You do not get silently charged for overages. Pixelesq's model is tier-based, not usage-based.
Invoices and Receipts
Every payment generates an invoice. Find invoices in your billing settings. You can download them as PDFs for accounting purposes or to expense.
Invoices include:
- Billing period
- Plan name and pricing
- Any proration adjustments
- Taxes (if applicable in your region)
- Payment method used
Pro Tips
- Start on Free, upgrade when you hit a real limit. Most users on Free eventually hit the custom domain feature (it's included free, but pages/entries may be capped) or the AI features (Pro-only). Wait until a specific limit blocks your progress, then upgrade.
- Annual billing saves money. If you are confident you will use Pixelesq for at least a year, annual billing gives you a discount. Check the specific savings on the pricing page.
- Document your plan's limits. Keep a note of your current plan's limits (pages, entries, team members) so you know when you are approaching them. Prevents surprises.
- Audit plan usage quarterly. Are you using all the features you are paying for? If you upgraded for AI features and never use them, downgrading saves money. If you are close to a limit, upgrading preemptively avoids hitting walls.
- Contact sales for Enterprise questions. Enterprise plans include custom pricing, SLAs, and features not on public pricing pages. If your needs are unique, email sales rather than self-serving through standard plans.
Troubleshooting
Payment failed during upgrade: The most common cause is an expired or declined card. Update your payment method and try again. For specific decline reasons, check with your bank; Stripe provides the high-level error but not always the exact reason.
Upgraded but new features are not available: Wait 1-2 minutes for the upgrade to propagate. Refresh your dashboard. If features are still locked, log out and back in. If still locked, contact support with your project ID.
Billed but did not authorize: This is usually a renewal on an annual plan you set up previously. Check your billing history. Pixelesq does not bill without authorization, but annual renewals happen automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date.
Cannot cancel or downgrade: If the cancel option is missing or blocked, you may have pending payments or a contract obligation (for Enterprise). Contact support to resolve before canceling.
Need a refund: Refund policies depend on when and why you are requesting. Contact support with your project ID and reason. Most reasonable refund requests are honored, but there is no automatic refund mechanism.
FAQ
Do I lose my data if I downgrade to Free?
Your data is preserved. Downgrading removes access to premium features but does not delete content. You may be limited in what you can edit or create (e.g., read-only mode if you exceed the new tier's limits), but existing content stays in place. Upgrading later restores full access.
Can I pause my subscription temporarily?
Pixelesq does not currently support pausing subscriptions. You would cancel and resubscribe when ready. Cancellation preserves your data, so you can come back later without losing anything.
Is there a free trial of paid plans?
Check the current pricing page. Some plans may have a free trial period, others may not. The Free plan itself serves as an unlimited trial of the core features, so you can test Pixelesq without committing to a paid plan.
What payment methods does Pixelesq accept?
Pixelesq uses Stripe for payment processing. Stripe supports all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) and sometimes bank transfers, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or other methods depending on your region. Enterprise customers may have invoice-based billing options.
How are taxes handled?
Taxes depend on your location. Pixelesq or Stripe may automatically calculate and apply taxes (VAT, GST, sales tax) based on your billing address. Check your invoice for the tax breakdown. For tax-exempt organizations, contact support with your exemption documentation.
Can multiple projects share one subscription?
Subscription models vary. Some Pixelesq accounts bill per project, others bill per workspace covering multiple projects. Check your current billing to see the model. For consolidating multiple projects under one plan, contact sales.
