How Bay Area Hyperbarics made HBOT findable on Google and AI
The clinic's own team now writes and publishes its condition and research pages, and that content surfaces directly in Google and in AI answers.

ABOUT
One of the country's longest-running independent HBOT clinics
Bay Area Hyperbarics has run hyperbaric oxygen therapy out of Los Gatos, California since 1998. It is woman-owned, led by founder and clinic director Lisa St. John with Dr. Joyce Lu as medical director, and it treats the conditions HBOT is FDA- and Medicare-approved to address, from non-healing wounds and radiation injury to sudden deafness and carbon monoxide poisoning. Patients travel across the South Bay, from San Jose and Campbell to Mountain View and Saratoga, for treatment the clinic has refined over more than two decades.

A HubSpot site only a developer could update
For a clinic whose patients arrive with detailed medical questions, the website is the first consultation. On HubSpot CMS, though, publishing a new condition page or updating treatment details meant routing the work through a developer and waiting. The clinical team, the people who actually know HBOT, could not make the changes themselves.
The result was a site that lagged behind the clinic. Research the team wanted to share sat in drafts, and the depth of expertise built over more than two decades was not fully reflected in pages patients and search engines could reach.
Putting the clinical team back in control
Bay Area Hyperbarics moved to Pixelesq for a simple reason: the people who understand the therapy should be able to publish about it. Anyone on the team can now write or edit a page and have it live in minutes, with no ticket and no developer in the loop.
Pixelesq also handles the parts the team should not have to think about. SEO structure and schema are generated as pages are created, so each condition and research article is built to be understood by Google and by AI answer engines from the start.
We have spent decades learning what works in hyperbaric medicine. Now we can put that knowledge online ourselves, the day we want to, instead of waiting on someone else to do it for us.

Rebuilding the clinic's knowledge base, page by page
The team rebuilt the site as a deep library rather than a brochure. Today it runs 162 pages on Pixelesq: a page for each condition HBOT treats, a research section that now holds dozens of articles on everything from Long COVID to radiation injury, dedicated pages for South Bay service areas, and bios for the clinicians who deliver care.
Each page is published by the clinic itself and structured for discovery automatically. When the team added a guide on whether hyperbaric oxygen therapy is covered by insurance and Medicare, that single article went on to become the most-visited page on the site from search.
Found by patients on Google, cited by the AI engines
Over the last 90 days, Bay Area Hyperbarics' pages appeared in Google search 400,066 times and drew 2,850 organic clicks, at an average position of about 11. The clinic ranks in the top three for searches like hbot therapy and hyperbaric chamber benefits, and on the first page for high-intent local queries such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy near me and hyperbaric chamber los gatos.
The same content is now feeding AI answer engines. In 90 days the site earned referrals from six of them, including ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini, the channels where patients increasingly start their research. Nearly every page is indexed by Google, and most are recrawled within days.
For a clinic that competes with national chains and device sellers, owning that much of the conversation, on Google and inside AI answers, is the difference between being found and being missed.
Patients used to find us by word of mouth. Now they find us when they ask Google or ChatGPT a question about hyperbaric oxygen, and the answer points to our pages. That reach used to be out of our hands. Lisa St. John, Clinic Director and Founder
