- Click the blocks icon to open the Field Schema Manager.
- Pick a Field Type and type a Label. The System name fills in from it.
- Add Help Text if you like, and tick Field is required? if every entry needs it.
- Click Add Field, then Publish Schema & Exit.
The pencil edits a field, the copy icon duplicates it, and the handles change the order.
Pick a field type
- Text Field for short text, and HTML Editor for formatted text.
- Media Field for an image or video, from a URL or your library.
- Number, Checkbox, and Option for a fixed list of choices.

Every collection also has the built-in Entry name and Slug fields.
Rename or delete a field
- Changing a Label also changes its System name. Type the old system name back before you click Update Field, or entries stop showing that field's content.
- To delete a field, click its trash icon, confirm Delete, then click Publish Schema & Exit.
Limits
- Field changes have no draft. They apply as soon as you publish the schema.
- There are no URL, email, color or repeating group field types.
- Deleted fields can't be brought back, so treat their content as gone.
- Entry name and Slug can't be removed.
- System names must be unique, and _raw, _pagination and _filters are reserved.
