Connect ChatGPT to your Pixelesq site
Add Pixelesq in ChatGPT
OpenAI changes these menus often, so the names in your ChatGPT may differ a little.
- In ChatGPT on the web, open Settings and turn on Developer mode. Depending on your version, it sits under Apps or Security and login.
- Go to Plugins, click + and choose Add custom MCP server.
- Name it Pixelesq. Under Connection, paste
https://mcp.pixelesq.app/mcpas the Server URL. - Set authentication to OAuth, accept the warning and create the plugin. Then install it.
- On the Pixelesq screen that opens, click Approve. Then click Continue with Google, or click Send verification code and enter the 6-digit code from your email. Use the email you sign in to Pixelesq with.
- In a chat, type @, choose Pixelesq and ask it to list your Pixelesq projects to test it.
Limits
- ChatGPT works with your role. Owners and Editors can make changes.
- ChatGPT asks before each change. You can approve a tool for the rest of a chat.
- Page, section and entry edits stay drafts until you or ChatGPT publish them. Some changes apply at once, such as theme updates, form edits, redirects and SEO details on a published page.
- ChatGPT shows visual cards for your pages, analytics, SEO health and theme, and can create images for your site.
- Whether ChatGPT can make changes, or only read, depends on your ChatGPT plan and workspace settings.
- You sign in again every 90 days.
Common questions
What does "Session expired. Please try again." mean?
Sign-in took longer than 10 minutes. Start the connection again and finish within 10 minutes.
Why can't I find developer mode?
It needs a paid ChatGPT plan and ChatGPT on the web. In a work or school workspace, ask your admin to allow it. OpenAI's guide to custom MCP servers has the latest steps.
Why can't ChatGPT see my projects?
You probably signed in with a different email. Remove Pixelesq in ChatGPT, add it again and sign in with the email your projects use.
