Check which pages Google has indexed and inspect any URL

See which pages are indexed

  1. In the sidebar, under manage, click analytics, then Indexing.
  2. Each published page shows Indexed, Excluded, Error or Pending. Hover a status to see Google's reason.
  3. Filter the list with All, Indexed or Excluded.
  4. Click Refresh All to check every page again, or Refresh on a page that isn't indexed.

Check one address

  1. Click Inspect URL.
  2. Under URL Inspector, paste the full address, starting with https://, and click Check.
  3. Read Coverage, Indexing, Page fetch, Robots.txt and Last checked by Google.

Submit a sitemap

  1. In the same panel, under Sitemaps, enter your sitemap's address, such as https://yoursite.com/sitemap.xml.
  2. Click Submit.
  3. Check it under Submitted Sitemaps.

Limits

Common questions

Why is the list empty?

No pages have been checked. Click Refresh All. You need at least one page published on your own domain.

What does "Failed to refresh status. Please try again." mean?

Google limits how often pages can be checked. Wait a few minutes and try again.

Why is a page Excluded?

Hover the status to read Google's reason. Pages you've hidden from search are excluded on purpose. See Hide a page from search engines.

What does "Failed to submit sitemap" mean?

Check the address, then submit it again.
