Ask Pixel to rewrite, restyle or move a section

Ask for a change

1. In the editor, click ask pixel.
2. Name the section and the change, such as "Shorten the hero headline" or "Use a light gray background on mobile".
3. Watch the steps, then check the page. Pixel changes only that section in your draft.

Point Pixel at one field

1. With Pixel open, click a heading, image, button or section on the page. A chip such as "Hero › Title" names it.
2. Type your change. The box asks, for example, "What should the title say?".
3. Or click a suggestion, such as Replace with a stock photo of… for an image, Link it to… for a button, or Move it up for a section.

Edit manually closes Pixel so you can edit the field yourself.

What Pixel can change

• Text, single list items such as one card or menu link, and images.
• Background, spacing, alignment, columns and image placement, for one screen size or all of them.
• Where the section sits. Pixel can also copy a section to another page or repeat it on the same page.
• A section's list, by connecting it to a collection, such as "Show our latest 3 blog posts here".

Limits

• Pixel edits your draft, and publishing needs your approval. See Approve or discard Pixel's changes.
• Header and footer edits change the shared partial, so they show on every page once it's published.
• Pixel can't turn a section into another type. Ask it to add a new section instead.
• Pixel uses real names, prices and numbers from your site. When there are none, it adds placeholder text and tells you.

Common questions

Pixel changed the wrong thing. What do I do?

Click Undo, or ask Pixel to undo it. To tell us, rate the reply down and pick Wrong target.

What does "The write did not stick" mean?

Pixel's change didn't save, and the section still has its old values. Ask again, or edit the field yourself.

Can Pixel write a whole new section?

Yes. Ask it to add one, or use Magic Add.
